How it works:

Getting a virtual consultation with Easycare Health is simple and takes just a few minutes.

Step 1 — WhatsApp Us

Send a message to 076 866 0551 on WhatsApp to request a virtual consultation. Let us know your name, a brief description of your symptoms, and whether you are a medical aid or cash patient.

Step 2 — Confirm Your Booking

Our team will confirm your appointment time and send you a secure video call link. Most bookings are confirmed on the same day.

Step 3 — Consult with Your Doctor

At your scheduled time, join the video call from your phone, tablet, or computer. Your doctor will assess your condition, answer your questions, and issue a prescription, sick note, or referral letter digitally if needed.

When a Virtual Consultation Is Not Suitable

While virtual consultations cover the vast majority of everyday health concerns, there are situations where an in-person visit is necessary. A virtual consultation is not suitable for:

  • Medical emergencies — chest pain, difficulty breathing, collapse, or stroke symptoms
  • Severe injuries or trauma requiring physical examination or wound care
  • Children under 5 years of age
  • Mental health crises or acute psychiatric emergencies
  • Prescriptions for scheduled substances (habit-forming medication)
  • Post-hospitalisation follow-up within 7 days of discharge
  • Conditions that clearly require a physical examination for diagnosis

In any of the above situations, please visit your nearest Easycare Health branch or go directly to your nearest emergency facility. Our branches are open Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings — no appointment necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I book a virtual consultation?

A: Simply WhatsApp us on 076 866 0551 with your name and a brief description of your symptoms. Our team will confirm your appointment and send you a video call link — usually within a few hours.

Q: What does it cost?

A: Cash patients pay R260 per consultation. Medical aid patients are billed directly to their scheme at the applicable tariff. There are no hidden fees.

Q: Which medical aids are accepted?

A: We accept all major medical aids, including Discovery Health, GEMS, Bonitas, Momentum, Medihelp, Bestmed, KeyCare, and many others. WhatsApp us to verify your specific plan before booking.

Q: Do I need any special equipment?

A: All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. No special apps are required — we use a simple browser-based video link.

Q: Can I get a prescription after a virtual consultation?

A: Yes. Your doctor can issue a legal electronic prescription, which can be sent to any pharmacy in South Africa or directly to our Loerie Pharmacy if you prefer.

Q: Can I get a sick note?

A: Yes, for a maximum of 2 consecutive days where clinically appropriate. For longer periods of illness, an in-person consultation may be required by your employer.

Q: Is this service available after hours?

A: Virtual consultations are primarily available during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, and Saturday mornings). Please WhatsApp us to confirm availability.

Q: Are children able to use the virtual consultation service?

A: Virtual consultations are suitable for children aged 5 years and older when a parent or guardian is present. Children under 5 should be seen in person at your nearest Easycare branch.

Q: Is the consultation confidential?

A: Yes. All consultations are fully confidential and conducted in accordance with South African medical ethics guidelines and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Q: What if I need to be seen in person after all?

A: If your doctor determines during the virtual consultation that a physical examination is needed, they will advise you to visit your nearest Easycare branch. You will not be charged twice — the virtual consultation fee will be credited toward your in-person visit.

Q: Which areas do you serve?

A: Our virtual consultation service is available to patients across South Africa. Our physical branches serve the Garden Route and Klein Karoo region, including George, Mossel Bay, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Beaufort West, Heiderand, and Blanco.
